"A large shop with so many nice things! I moved to Australia with basically no nice clothes packed, so for 30 dollar I got one pair of jeans, two blouses and one dress. I went to several different Vinnies centres in Sydney but this one in Newtown is without doubt the absolute best! So nice staff as well, really nice to have a little chat with and they also played good music. Loved the place and would recommend it to anyone who likes nice clothes for really cheap prices. Amazing store!"
"This is a huge op shop, and it has been here forever, and it has a hole in the wall donation bin. But Vinnies are very picky, half the stuff donated gets thrown away or at best sent to country stores. This Vinnies has a terrific selection of vintage and dress up clothes on a separate rail. (My costumes went there) Books are very good, but very, very badly organised. True of all Vinnies. Lots of good crockery and kitchen stuff. Large selection of men's clothes and shoes, best selection of shirts anywhere. They also have good designer stuff that someone on staff recognizes and keeps in the window (very good window display as is the Vinnies in Rozelle) and behind the counter, necessary as all kinds of people frequent this Vinnies, the rich, the poor, the arty, and the needy and some that make me keep a grip on my purse."
"Really extensive shop with a lively feel. Despite being on King St, it hasn't been picked clean and there's always new stock coming in. Well laid out so you can browse comfortably. The prices aren't bargain basement but are generally quite reasonable, apart from the occasional high-end brand names. The book selection is quite good, with a variety of fiction and non-fiction obviously donated by students or ex-students from Sydney University. Airy, light and friendly staff."
"Big store, quite pricy, lots of stock, not much vintage or retro clothing. "
"HEAPS of clothes! Prices are reasonable for the location."
"Over Priced, but i think they take advantage of the location. Good selection if you get in early. "
